Richard Devey

Richard Devey was baptised on the 23rd September 1804 at St Peters, Wolverhampton, the son of John and Elizabeth Devey. Richard married Caroline Layton/Latin on 29th April 1833 at St Martins in Birmingham. Caroline Devey was baptised on 3rd September 1815 at St Marys Church, Handsworth the daughter of Luke and Phebe Layton. Caroline died on 29th June 1855 at Queens Hospital, Birmingham. Richard Devey was recorded on various Census’s as being a Paper Mache worker, a Paper Tray maker and also a Cabinet Maker. Richard and Caroline had nine children all who were born in and around Birmingham.
